Starter Kits

Starter kits do exactly what they say on the tin; perfect for anyone who is beginning their vaping journey. Starter kits are readily available and there are a number of brands to choose from. When you’re starting off, we suggest low regulated devices that use integrated batteries with easily replaceable coils; lower in wattage and power and are designed to mirror smoking through mouth to lung vaping (MTL).

What is mouth to lung vaping we hear you say? Mouth to lunch vaping is the inhalation style which is similar to smoking a cigarette. You take a drag on your E-Cig, hold the vapour in your mouth before inhaling and then finally exhaling. Starter kits tend to be smaller, more compact and lighter than sub ohm kits and come in all different shapes, sizes and power outputs. Here are a few good options to get you started. Mouth to lung vapes are closest to smoking a traditional cigarette and naturally, these tend to be higher in nicotine levels. Moving away from traditional cigarettes to vaping can be easy with the right starter kits and we’ve picked a good bunch for you to choose from.

Pen Style kits

Pen style vapes are the only devices that describe what they look like with their name and are not restricted only to starter kits. Pen style vapes are more compact and subtle yet can vary in both size and power, but the key element of the device being cylindrical resembling a pen stays consistent. Some devices differ when it comes to having internal or external batteries. Though they are compact and slim, the newer designs have inbuilt screens that display different information such as wattage, resistance and battery life.

Sub Ohm Kits

Now, this is where things get really interesting. Sub Ohm kits have not been around for as long as mouth to lung style of vape kits, but these newer and innovative devices are truly something to be excited about. Once you become more advanced in the vaping world, Sub Ohm Kits are perfect for increase vapour production; the sole reason as to why these devices are made. If you’re looking for more vapour, more flavour, or a longer battery life then these are perfect for you.

If you’ve been vaping for a while and are looking for something a little more, the perfect place to start may be with our Sub-tanks; giving you higher power and more vapour. However, Sub Ohm devices can also be a great choice for anyone who is looking to start rebuilding their own devices but don’t worry, we don’t mean the whole tank, just the coils.

Pod Systems

A pod system vape is a mini vape based on a two-part system: a pod filled with e-liquid juice that snaps into a small battery. They’re available in pre-filled or refillable designs. The best thing about these is that once you’re done with the pre-filled pod, you simply remove it, get rid of it and replace. Perfect for spending less time on your device and more time vaping. Most pod systems also referred to as pod mods, vape pods, mini vapes or pod systems, were designed for smokers transitioning into vaping.

Rebuildables

When you become more advanced and get into rebuildables, you can rebuild your own coils with a rebuildable dripping atomizer (RDA), rebuildable tank atomizer (RTA) or rebuildable dripping tank atomizer (RDTA). This sounds like a lot doesn’t it? Don’t worry, we’ve broken this jargon down further here and some of our coolest rebuildables can be seen below.

Squonk Mods

Squonk Squonk! We are excited to introduce you to the world of squonking! Though this falls into the standard vaping category, it is quite different from your traditional advice.

Unlike your typical sub-ohm tank where the cotton wick is primed, (Link to priming your coil) squonk mods operate a little bit differently.

To use your squonk mod, you have to build and prime your coil like you usually would, however, you then have to pull out the internal squonk bottle that a squonk mod houses to fill it up with your favourite e-liquid.

An example that we’re super excited about is Aspires latest addition. Aspire have recently introduced an innovative ARC coil coupled with a squonk mod. They’re pretty cool and come in some amazing colours too.

You’ll notice from the photos that there’s a finger grip that exposes a small bottle through the casing. This isn’t just for design purposes. This is used to ‘squonk’ the container through squeezing; gently allowing the e-liquid to feed its way up into the tank. Once you release your finger, the container will cave in for a few moments. Once the bottle regains its shape, the liquid has effectively made it up into the tank and hopefully saturated the wick. Only then can you fire up the device. If you’ve been following our instalments of The Vaping Bible, you’ll know when it’s time to squonk again as your flavour starts to feel muted, the wick is dry, or you’ve started to get a burnt taste upon vaping.

Squonk mods are perfect for ease of use as it eliminates the need to carry your juice with you. Sound’s great, right? Not so fast!

A SMOKEY TIP

If you are new to building or vaping in general, then squonking is definitely not for you, yet. There is a lot to master when it comes to the complexity of understanding the importance of ohms law, voltage, wattage and electricity. There are dangers associated with incorrectly built or unregulated mods. We would recommend leaving squonking builds for when you are a very experienced vaper.
